Creating and Editing Services

AI description length and missing facts
The service AI assistant and service SEO + AI text previews require 900–1500 words in the main description, targeting about 1200. The preview shows the word count and range status. Short descriptions, SEO title, meta description, separate FAQs and image suggestions are not counted. Existing writing style, plain-text format and page layout remain.
If owner-approved facts cannot support a useful, accurate description, the panel requests additional information instead of padding with guesses or repetition. In the service assistant, these questions appear in the existing interview form; answer them before generating again. In the section editor, add verified answers to the brief and request fresh suggestions. Length corrections do not spend additional final-draft credits. Failed generation does not apply the preview and refunds the reserved final-draft credit.
This guide covers how to create a new service and how to edit an existing one. Both the "Add Service" and "Edit Service" pages share the same form layout, organized into clearly labeled sections.

Form Sections
1. Basic Information
This section captures the core details of your service.
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Service Name | Yes | The name of the service as displayed to customers. Keep it clear and descriptive. |
| Short Description | No | A brief summary (up to 500 characters) shown in service listings and previews. |
| Full Description | No | A detailed description of the service. Explain what the service includes, what customers should expect, and any preparation steps. |
Info: The service name is the only required field in this section. However, adding descriptions significantly helps customers understand what they are booking.
2. Timing
Configure how long the service takes and add buffer time around each appointment.
| Field | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duration | Yes | 30 min | The length of the service session in minutes. Must be at least 1 minute. |
| Buffer Before | No | 0 min | Extra time blocked before each appointment (e.g., for room preparation). |
| Buffer After | No | 0 min | Extra time blocked after each appointment (e.g., for cleanup). |
Info: Buffer times prevent back-to-back bookings. For example, a 60-minute service with 10 minutes of buffer before and after will block a total of 80 minutes in the schedule, but customers only see the 60-minute duration.
Booking Method
Choose how customers arrange the service:
- Instant booking from available times lets customers reserve a free provider slot. You can add up to 12 timing options with separate names, durations, prices and flexible, morning, afternoon or full-day windows. Without options, the main duration and price apply.
- Job request; schedule after review collects the customer's description, address and preferred date without reserving time. Choose whether the estimate is per job, day or week. Staff review the request and create one or more visits later.
Use instant booking when duration and price are known in advance. Use request mode when inspection, travel, scope or multi-day scheduling must be agreed first. See Job Requests and Visits.
3. Pricing
Set the cost of your service and configure deposit requirements.
| Field | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base Price | Yes | 0 | The regular price of the service. |
| Sale Price | No | -- | An optional discounted price. When set, the original price appears with a strikethrough. |
| Deposit Type | No | None | Whether a deposit is required at booking time. Options: None, Percentage, Fixed Amount. |
| Deposit Amount | Conditional | 0 | Required when deposit type is Percentage or Fixed. Enter the percentage or fixed amount. |
Deposit Type Options:
- None -- No deposit is required. The customer pays the full amount at the time of the appointment.
- Percentage -- The customer pays a percentage of the total price upfront when booking. For example, setting 25% on a $100 service requires a $25 deposit.
- Fixed Amount -- The customer pays a fixed amount upfront when booking, regardless of the service price.
4. Location
Define where the service takes place.
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Location Type | Yes | Choose from In-Person, Online, or Both. |
| Address | Conditional | Physical address where the service is delivered. Shown when location type is In-Person or Both. |
| Online Link | Conditional | URL for the online meeting (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet). Shown when location type is Online or Both. |
Location Type Options:
- In-Person -- The service is delivered at a physical location. Enter the address so customers know where to go.
- Online -- The service is delivered via video call. Provide the meeting link.
- Both -- The service is available both in-person and online. Both the address and online link fields appear.
5. Capacity
| Field | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max Capacity Per Slot | No | 1 | The maximum number of customers who can book the same time slot. Set to 1 for one-on-one services (e.g., private consultations). Set higher for group services (e.g., a yoga class with 20 spots). |
Info: When max capacity is greater than 1, multiple customers can book the same time slot until the capacity is reached. This is ideal for classes, workshops, and group sessions.
6. Image
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Image URL | No | A URL pointing to an image that represents the service. This image appears in the service listing on the dashboard and storefront. A preview is shown below the field. |
7. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Optimize how your service appears in search engine results.
| Field | Required | Max Length | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEO Title | No | 70 characters | The title that appears in search engine results. A character counter helps you stay within limits. |
| SEO Description | No | 160 characters | The meta description for search results. A character counter helps you stay within limits. |
Info: If you leave the SEO fields empty, the service name and short description are typically used as fallbacks by search engines.
8. Category
Organize your services by assigning them to categories.
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Service Category | No | Select an existing category or choose "No Category". |
| Create Category | -- | Click the "Create Category" button to quickly add a new category without leaving the page. |
Categories help customers browse and filter services on your storefront. They also power the category filter on the services list page.
9. Service Providers
Assign service providers who can deliver this service. Providers are managed separately from dashboard team accounts.
- A list of active service providers is displayed as checkboxes.
- Check the box next to each provider who delivers this service.
- Each provider can have their own contact details, service assignments and schedule.
- A counter shows how many providers are currently selected.
Info: Only active providers are shown. Create them in Service Providers. Creating a provider does not create a dashboard login or grant panel access.
10. Status
| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Checked | When active, the service is visible and bookable. Deactivating a service hides it from customers but preserves all data. |
| Featured | Unchecked | Featured services are highlighted in your storefront, making them more prominent to potential customers. |
Deleting a Service
- Navigate to Dashboard > Services.
- Click the three-dot menu on the service row.
- Select "Delete".
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.
Warning: Deleting a service is permanent and cannot be undone. Any existing appointments associated with the service will be affected. Consider deactivating the service instead if you want to preserve historical data.
Toggling Service Status
You can quickly enable or disable a service directly from the services list:
- Navigate to Dashboard > Services.
- Find the service in the table.
- Click the toggle switch in the Active column.
The change takes effect immediately. Inactive services are hidden from customers but remain in your dashboard for reference.
Searching and Filtering Services
The services list page provides two filtering options:
- Search -- Type in the search box to filter services by name. Results update as you type.
- Category Filter -- Use the category dropdown to show only services in a specific category. Select "All Categories" to remove the filter.
You can also create a new category directly from the filter bar by clicking the "+" button next to the category dropdown.
AI description, SEO and service page
The Service AI assistant can generate an editable description, SEO, FAQ and image ideas directly from the service details already entered. The interview and separate keyword suggestion are optional. Each question round, keyword suggestion, final draft and image generation uses the allowance shown in the editor; an unsuccessful final draft that needs more facts refunds its reserved text credit.
- Enter the service name, choose the content language and review existing descriptions, FAQs and booking facts.
- Optionally use the interview to add more verified details, or request keyword suggestions and review URL conflicts and Search Console evidence where available.
- Select Generate full service copy with SEO + AI (beta). A prior interview or primary keyword is not required; if none is set, the draft proposes one. If the existing facts cannot support useful copy, answer the specific questions shown and generate again.
- Inspect every claim, price, location, proposed keyword and expectation before applying the draft.
- Generate or approve images only after checking the preview and available image allowance.
Applying AI output updates the service form; it does not save the service automatically. Review the fields and select Create Service or Save Changes.
The service page composer keeps the cover and booking widget above the editable sections. Use templates or individual sections for the rest of the page, adjust page appearance, and use undo/redo while editing. A plan can limit the number of services with saved custom page layouts. Saving an attractive layout does not correct inaccurate service facts, availability or pricing, so verify the public page after publication.
