Notifications

Official guide · English · Version 9c253d0cf11816df

The Notifications tab lets you control which alerts and reports you receive, and configure how your team is notified when a customer conversation is handed off to a human operator.

The page is organized into two cards: Notification Preferences (general alerts) and Handoff Notifications (operator escalation alerts).

Notification Preferences

This card contains four toggles that control different types of notifications. Changes take effect immediately when you toggle a switch -- there is no separate save button for these settings.

Available Toggles

Toggle Default Description
Email Notifications On Master switch for receiving email notifications. When disabled, no email alerts of any kind will be sent.
Weekly Report On Receive a weekly summary email with key metrics such as total conversations, orders, revenue, and chatbot performance.
Low Quota Alert On Get notified when your AI message quota is running low, so you can upgrade your plan or purchase additional quota before running out.
New Conversation Alert Off Receive a notification each time a new customer starts a conversation with your chatbot. This is disabled by default because high-traffic stores would receive too many alerts.

How to Change Notification Preferences

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
  2. In the Notification Preferences card, locate the toggle for the notification type you want to change.
  3. Click the toggle to switch it on (blue) or off (gray).
  4. The preference is saved instantly to your browser's local storage.

Info: Notification preferences are currently stored in your browser's local storage. This means they are specific to the browser and device you are using. If you log in from a different browser or device, you will need to set your preferences again.

Handoff Notifications

When a customer conversation is escalated from the AI chatbot to a human operator (a "handoff"), you can be notified through email and/or Telegram. This card lets you configure those notification channels.

Fields

Field Required Description
Notification Email No The email address where handoff notifications will be sent. This can be different from your account email -- for example, a shared team inbox.
Telegram Bot Token No The API token for your Telegram bot. You create a bot through Telegram's BotFather and receive this token.
Telegram Chat ID No The chat ID (user ID or group ID) where the Telegram bot should send notifications.

Setting Up Email Handoff Notifications

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
  2. In the Handoff Notifications card, enter the email address in the Notification Email field.
  3. Click Save Notification Settings.
  4. A confirmation indicator will appear when saved successfully.

Setting Up Telegram Handoff Notifications

To receive handoff alerts on Telegram, you need to create a Telegram bot and configure it here.

  1. Create a Telegram Bot:

    1. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather.
    2. Send the command /newbot and follow the instructions to name your bot.
    3. BotFather will provide you with an API token (a long string like <YOUR_BOT_TOKEN>).
  2. Get Your Chat ID:

    1. Start a conversation with your new bot on Telegram.
    2. Send any message to the bot.
    3. To find your chat ID, open https://api.telegram.org/bot<YOUR_TOKEN>/getUpdates in a browser (replace <YOUR_TOKEN> with your actual token).
    4. Look for the "chat":{"id": value in the response -- that is your chat ID.
    5. For group notifications, add the bot to your group and use the group's chat ID (usually a negative number).
  3. Configure in Dashboard:

    1. Enter the Telegram Bot Token in the corresponding field.
    2. Enter the Telegram Chat ID in the corresponding field.
    3. Click Save Notification Settings.

Info: You can configure both email and Telegram notifications simultaneously. When a handoff occurs, notifications will be sent through all configured channels.

How to Update or Remove Handoff Notification Settings

  1. To update, simply change the field values and click Save Notification Settings.
  2. To remove a notification channel, clear the corresponding field(s) and click Save Notification Settings.

Warning: If you enter an invalid Telegram Bot Token or Chat ID, notifications will fail silently. Make sure to test your bot by sending a message through Telegram's API before relying on it for handoff alerts.
