Initial Setup
Official guide · English · Version 9c253d0cf11816df
The Setup Wizard collects business information, a products/services/both choice, template choices and available catalog images, then helps generate initial content. Complete setup and review a private preview before separately publishing on your verified custom domain. Setup does not allocate a permanent public subdomain.
Info: If you have already completed the setup wizard, you can re-run it at any time by clicking the Re-run Setup button on the Storefront Overview page, or by navigating to Storefront > Design & Setup > Setup Wizard.
The Four Steps
The wizard displays a visual progress indicator at the top showing which step you are on. Each completed step is marked with a green checkmark.
| Step | Name | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Store Information | Enter your business details and select featured products |
| 2 | Choose Template | Select a design template and layout direction |
| 3 | AI Website Builder | AI automatically generates your website content, images, and homepage sections |
| 4 | Complete setup & Preview | Finish the setup and review privately; custom-domain publication is separate |
Step 1: Store Information
This step collects the basic details about your business that the AI will use to generate your website content.
Fill in your store details
Complete the following fields in the Store Information card:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Website Language | Yes | The language for your storefront. Choose from 18 supported languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Persian, and more. This determines what language the AI generates content in. |
| Currency | Yes | The currency for displaying product prices. Supports 16 currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, TRY, INR, CNY, JPY, and more. |
| Country | Yes | Your business's country. This is the only strictly required field to proceed. |
| City | No | Your business's city location. |
| Phone | No | A contact phone number displayed on the storefront. |
| Contact Email | No | A contact email address for customer inquiries. |
| Address | No | Your physical business address. |
| About Your Business | No | A brief description of your business. The AI uses this to create your "About" page content and other website copy. |
Info: The more information you provide, the better the AI can generate relevant website content. The "About Your Business" field is especially helpful for creating accurate homepage text, about pages, and meta descriptions.
Choose products, services, or both
Choose what the website will offer. On a fresh setup, active services without products suggest Services; an active product and service catalog suggests Products and services. A saved choice is retained. If it differs from the catalog, Use suggested website type lets you apply the recommendation.
- Products: product shopping and checkout.
- Services: appointment booking or job requests. The homepage uses existing service photos and editable sections for the introduction, service categories, service cards, process, assigned providers when available, stored service FAQs and contact details.
- Products and services: product sections plus a service collection near the hero, with separate links for shopping and services.
Service-only setup skips product image analysis and product banner generation. Service cards use actual prices and timing. Appointment services lead to booking; request-based services lead to a job request and show quote-based pricing. Website mode does not change chatbot configuration.
Select featured products
In the Featured Products card, choose up to 5 products that will be highlighted on your homepage hero banner and featured sections.
- Use the search bar to find products by name
- Click a product to select it (a blue checkmark appears)
- Click again to deselect
- Selected products appear as badges below the grid
- Click the X on a badge to remove it
Choose banner images (optional)
After selecting featured products, the Banner Images section appears. For each selected product, you can choose which product image to use in the hero banner:
- Each product shows all its available images (primary + gallery)
- Click an image to select it as the banner image for that product
- Click again to deselect
- These images are used by the AI to create visually appealing hero banners
Click "Next: Choose Template"
Once you have filled in at least the Country field, click the button to save your store info and proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Choose Template
This step lets you pick a visual design for your store and set the text direction.
Browse the template gallery
The template gallery shows all 11 available templates. Each template card displays:
- A preview thumbnail
- The template name
- A brief description
Click a template card to select it (highlighted with a blue border). Click the preview icon on any template to open a larger preview in a modal.
Available templates
| Template | Description |
|---|---|
| Modern | Clean, card-based, minimal design |
| Classic | Traditional retail, warm colors |
| Bold | Dark backgrounds, neon accents |
| Fashion | Full-bleed images, lookbook style |
| Food | Warm palette, rounded cards |
| Tools | Industrial, spec-heavy cards |
| Machinery | Professional, data-table heavy |
| Art | Masonry grid, soft pastels |
| Digital | Gradient backgrounds, SaaS look |
| Sports | Dynamic angles, energetic colors |
| Marketplace | Dense, info-rich marketplace style |
Set layout direction
Below the template gallery, choose the layout direction:
- LTR (Left-to-Right) -- For languages like English, Spanish, French, German
- RTL (Right-to-Left) -- For languages like Arabic, Persian, Hebrew
The layout direction is automatically set based on the language you selected in Step 1, but you can override it here.
Click "Build with AI"
This saves your template selection and begins the AI building process in Step 3.
Step 3: AI Website Builder
This is where the magic happens. The AI automatically generates your entire website based on the information and template you provided.
Watch the AI build your site
The AI builder displays an animated progress view with a chef character and a step-by-step checklist. The process goes through approximately 12 stages:
- Gathering the ingredients
- Choosing the recipe
- Preheating the oven
- Organizing the pantry
- Plating the main course
- Setting the dinner table
- Writing the menu card
- Placing the welcome sign
- Preparing the specials board
- Polishing the silverware
- Folding the napkins
- Lighting the candles
Each step shows its status:
- Pending (gray circle) -- Not yet started
- Running (spinning loader) -- Currently in progress
- Done (green checkmark) -- Completed successfully
- Error (red circle) -- Failed
A progress bar at the top shows overall completion percentage.
Review the results
As steps complete, some show preview results:
- Generated images appear as small thumbnails
- Generated text content appears as a short preview
Wait for completion or skip
- When all steps finish, a "Website Ready!" message appears with a button to proceed
- If an error occurs, you can click Retry AI Build to try again
- If you prefer to set things up manually, click Skip & Finish Later to proceed without AI-generated content
Warning: The AI build process can take several minutes depending on the complexity of your store and the number of products. Do not close the browser tab while it is running.
Step 4: Complete setup and preview
The final step completes setup. It does not make the site public without the custom-domain publication requirements.
Review setup results
Check the generated text and selected product/banner images. Correct inaccurate claims and placeholders before publication. Permanent public subdomain selection is no longer available, for either Trial or paid accounts.
Preview your website
Click Preview Website to open a private, read-only storefront in a new tab. Its authorized session lasts 30 minutes. Reopen Preview from the dashboard when it expires; copying its address to another browser does not authorize access.
Complete setup, then publish separately
Complete the wizard and return to the Storefront overview. To go public, connect your own root domain, verify DNS, wait for active SSL, and choose Publish on custom domain. See Custom Domain and Publishing. Finishing setup alone is not a public launch.
Info: After activation, you can always make changes to any part of your storefront through the Dashboard. The setup wizard sets up the initial content, but everything is fully editable afterward.
What the AI Generates
During the AI build step, the system automatically creates:
| Generated Content | Description |
|---|---|
| Homepage sections | Hero banner, featured products, categories, testimonials, trust badges, and more -- all populated with real content |
| Banner images | AI-generated or AI-enhanced banner images using your selected product photos |
| About text | Store description text for the homepage and about section |
| SEO metadata | Meta titles, descriptions, and Open Graph data for your storefront |
| Navigation | Header navigation links based on your product categories |
| Footer content | Footer text, links, and layout configuration |
