Connecting Sales Channels
Official guide · English · Version 9c253d0cf11816df
Before you can list and sell products on external platforms, you need to establish a connection between your DirectSale account and each e-commerce platform. This page covers how to add, test, manage, and delete platform connections.
Accessing Connections
Navigate to Dashboard > Connections from the sidebar.
For Torob, open Connections > Torob instead of New Connection. The Torob workflow checks your published storefront and requires separate merchant registration with Torob. See Selling Through Torob.
Adding a New Connection
- Click the New Connection button in the top-right corner.
- A dialog opens where you configure the connection.
Step 1: Select a Platform
Choose the e-commerce platform from the dropdown:
| Platform | Description |
|---|---|
| WooCommerce | WordPress-based e-commerce stores. |
| Shopify | Hosted e-commerce platform. |
| PrestaShop | Open-source PHP e-commerce solution. |
| OpenCart | Open-source PHP shopping cart. |
| Amazon | Amazon Seller marketplace. |
| eBay | eBay online marketplace. |
Step 2: Enter Connection Details
All platforms require:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Connection Name | A friendly name to identify this connection (e.g., "My Shopify Store", "US Amazon"). |
| Site URL | The URL of your store (e.g., https://mystore.com). For Amazon, use https://www.amazon.com. For eBay, use https://www.ebay.com. |
Step 3: Enter Platform Credentials
Each platform requires different authentication credentials:
WooCommerce
| Field | Description | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer Key | API key for authentication. | In your WordPress admin, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API. Create a new key with Read/Write permissions. |
| Consumer Secret | API secret paired with the consumer key. | Generated alongside the Consumer Key. |
Info: WooCommerce API keys require your site to use HTTPS. The Consumer Key starts with
ck_and the Consumer Secret starts withcs_.
Shopify

|---|---|---|
| Access Token | Admin API access token. | In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and Sales Channels > Develop Apps. Create an app and generate an Admin API access token with the required scopes (products, orders, inventory). |
Info: The Shopify access token starts with

PrestaShop
| Field | Description | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
| API Key | Webservice API key. | In your PrestaShop admin, go to Advanced Parameters > Webservice. Enable the webservice and create a new API key with permissions for products, orders, stock, and categories. |
OpenCart

Amazon (SP-API)
Amazon requires several credentials from the Amazon Seller Partner API:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Region | Select your selling region: North America, Europe, or Far East. |
| Marketplace ID | The marketplace identifier (e.g., ATVPDKIKX0DER for US). |
| LWA Client ID | Login with Amazon (LWA) client application ID. Starts with amzn1.application-oa2-client. |
| LWA Client Secret | The client secret paired with your LWA Client ID. |
| LWA Refresh Token | OAuth refresh token obtained through the SP-API authorization flow. |
| AWS Access Key ID | IAM user access key for signing API requests. |
| AWS Secret Access Key | IAM user secret key paired with the Access Key ID. |
| IAM Role ARN | The ARN of the IAM role used for the SP-API. Starts with arn:aws:iam::. |
| Sandbox Mode | Toggle on for testing against the Amazon sandbox environment (no real orders). |
Warning: Amazon SP-API setup is complex and requires an approved Amazon Developer account, a registered SP-API application, and properly configured IAM roles. Refer to Amazon's SP-API documentation for detailed setup instructions.
eBay
eBay supports two connection methods:
Method 1: OAuth Authorization (Recommended)
- Select the eBay marketplace (US, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, or Spain).
- Optionally toggle Sandbox Mode for testing.
- If eBay global configuration is not set up by the platform admin, enter:
- App ID (Client ID)
- Cert ID (Client Secret)
- RuName (Redirect URL Name from your eBay developer application)
- Click the Authorize with eBay button.
- A popup window opens where you log in to your eBay account and grant permissions.
- Once authorized, the connection is created automatically.
Method 2: Manual Token Entry
- Enter your eBay application credentials (App ID, Cert ID).
- Choose the token type:
- User Access Token -- Short-lived token (expires in ~2 hours). Suitable for testing only.
- Refresh Token -- Long-lived token for production use.
- Paste the token value.
- Click Save Connection.
Info: The OAuth method is recommended because it handles token refresh automatically. Manual user access tokens expire quickly and require frequent replacement.
Step 4: Save the Connection
Click Save Connection to create the connection. The system will attempt to validate your credentials.
Testing a Connection
After creating a connection, test it to verify that your credentials are valid and the platform is reachable.
- Find the connection card on the Connections page.
- Click the Test button.
- The system sends a test request to the platform API.
- If successful, the connection status updates to Healthy (green check icon).
- If the test fails, the status updates to Failed (red X icon), and an error message is displayed.
Connection Card Details
Each connection is displayed as a card showing:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The connection name you provided. |
| Platform | The e-commerce platform (with platform icon). |
| Site URL | The store URL. |
| Status | Healthy (green check), Failed (red X), or Unknown (gray circle). |
| Products | Total number of products synced through this connection. |
| Last Sync | When the last synchronization was performed. |
Sync Options
Click the Sync button on a connection card to open the sync modal. Sync operations let you transfer data between your catalog and the connected platform.
When the connection offers Reconcile catalog, use it to review mappings, imports and supported publications before choosing a catalog source of truth. See Reconcile a Marketplace Catalog.
Sync Settings
Each connection has configurable sync settings that control what data is synchronized:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Update Price | Push price changes to the external platform. |
| Update Stock | Push stock quantity changes to the external platform. |
| Update Description | Push product description changes to the external platform. |
| Update Images | Push product image changes to the external platform. |
| Update Category | Push category changes to the external platform. |
| Add New Products | Automatically create new products on the external platform when they are added to your catalog. |
eBay-Specific Features
eBay connections have additional management features:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Sync Policies | Fetches your eBay business policies (fulfillment, payment, return) and stores them locally. Required for creating eBay listings. |
| Create Policies | Creates default business policies on eBay if they do not already exist. |
| eBay Settings | Opens the eBay-specific settings page for advanced configuration. |
Info: eBay requires business policies (fulfillment, payment, and return policies) to be configured before you can create listings. Use the Sync Policies and Create Policies buttons to set these up.
Deleting a Connection
- Click the Delete (trash icon) button on the connection card.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
- The connection and all its configuration are permanently removed.
Warning: Deleting a connection does not remove the products from the external platform. It only removes the connection from your dashboard. Existing listings on the platform will remain but will no longer be managed or synced.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Connection test fails | Verify your credentials are correct and have not expired. Check that the store URL is accessible. |
| WooCommerce: "Consumer key is invalid" | Regenerate the API keys in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API. Ensure the key has Read/Write permissions. |
| Shopify: "Unauthorized" | The access token may have been revoked. Generate a new token in Shopify admin. |
| Amazon: "Access denied" | Verify IAM role permissions and that your SP-API application is properly registered. |
| eBay: "Token expired" | If using a User Access Token, it expires in ~2 hours. Switch to OAuth authorization for automatic refresh. |
| Connection shows "Failed" status | Test the connection to see the specific error. Common causes include expired tokens, changed passwords, or network issues. |
| Cannot create eBay listings | Make sure business policies are configured. Use the Sync Policies or Create Policies buttons. |
