Product Settings
Official guide · English · Version 9c253d0cf11816df
The Product Settings page lets you configure how similar products are recommended on your storefront and how product images are processed with AI background replacement.
Similar Products
The Similar Products card controls how product recommendations are generated and displayed on your storefront product pages.
Recommendation Mode
Select one of the following modes from the dropdown:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Off | No similar product recommendations are shown on product pages |
| Vector Similarity | Uses AI-generated vector embeddings to find products that are semantically similar. This considers product descriptions, features, and categories to find the most relevant matches |
| Hybrid | Combines vector similarity with additional signals such as category matching and price proximity for more diverse recommendations |
When you select a mode, the change is saved automatically. A brief saving indicator appears, followed by a success message.
Info: Vector similarity requires products to be fully processed through the AI pipeline (status: Ready). Products that have not been processed yet will not appear in similarity results.
Photo Settings
The Photo Settings card lets you configure the default AI image style for background replacement across your entire product catalog. This is the same technology used in the per-product and bulk background replacement features, but configured here as your store-wide default.
Image Style Presets
A grid displays all available AI image style presets. Each preset card shows:
- Style name (e.g., "Floating Mirror", "Studio Backdrop", "Gradient")
- Description of the visual effect
- A purple checkmark badge when selected
Click a preset to toggle it on or off. You can select between 1 and 5 styles:
- When multiple styles are selected, the system randomly assigns one of the chosen styles to each product during batch processing
- You must always have at least 1 style selected
A counter below the grid shows how many styles are currently selected (e.g., "2 styles selected").
Brand Background Color
When at least one selected style requires a background color, the color picker section appears:
Preset colors:
| Color | Hex Code |
|---|---|
| Light Gray | #F5F5F5 |
| Gray | #E8E8E8 |
| Warm Gray | #F5F0EB |
| Dark Slate | #1E293B |
| White | #FFFFFF |
- Click any preset color circle to select it
- Use the custom color picker (the rightmost circle) to choose any color
- The selected hex code is displayed next to the color options
Quota Display
At the top of the Photo Settings card, badges show your current usage:
| Badge | Description |
|---|---|
| AI Images Used | Shows total AI image generations used by previews, per-product Replace BG and Generate All out of one shared monthly allowance |
| Apply Free Remaining | Shows the separate free batch-application allowance where offered; it does not grant extra AI image credits |
Test Preview
Before applying your style to all products, you can test it on a single product to see the results.
Select a Product
Choose a product from the dropdown. Only products with images are listed.
Generate Preview
Click Test Background. The system processes the product's primary image with the selected style and color settings.
Compare Results
A before/after comparison appears below:
- Before -- The original product image
- After -- The image with the AI-generated background applied
The remaining shared AI image allowance is displayed below the button.
Apply to All Products
Once you are satisfied with the style and color settings, you can apply them to your entire product catalog.
Click Apply to All
Click the Apply to All button in the bottom section of the Photo Settings card.
Confirm
A confirmation dialog appears warning that this will process all product images. Click Yes, Apply to All to proceed or Cancel to go back.
Processing
The action queues background work for active products with source images. Its initial success means the work was queued, not that every image finished. Follow the batch status and inspect actual products. Every newly generated result still needs a credit from the shared AI image allowance; a free batch application does not bypass that allowance.
The system also saves your selected style and color as the brand default settings for future use.
Warning: Applying background replacement to all products may take some time depending on the number of products in your catalog. The process runs in the background and you can continue using the dashboard while it completes.
Info: Check the shared AI image usage and batch status before starting. A catalog of 500 products does not imply 500 credits remain. For explicit scope, regeneration options and completed/failed counts, use Products > Generate All.
