VAT Returns

Official guide · English · Version 9c253d0cf11816df

The Accounting > VAT Returns screen prepares and tracks VAT return records from accounting data. Tax rates, filing eligibility and deadlines must be confirmed for your business; this guide describes the software workflow, not tax advice.

Before you start

Review tax configuration, posted sales/purchases, credit/debit notes and the reporting period. Reconcile the source reports first. Do not assume a button called Submit proves acceptance by a tax authority.

Prepare and review

  1. Open VAT Returns and choose Generate.
  2. Enter period start and end dates.
  3. Generate the return and open its detail view.
  4. Compare output/input VAT and totals with the source invoices and tax reports.
  5. Check that adjustments belong to the correct period and that transactions are not duplicated.
  6. Use the available Submit action only after the responsible person approves the return.
  7. Reload the detail and retain the resulting status/reference.

Verify submission separately

Distinguish a return marked submitted in DirectSale from a government portal receipt. Unless an explicit connected filing workflow supplies confirmation, complete and verify any required external filing separately. Do not submit a second return merely because a browser response timed out.

Troubleshooting

Unexpected total: compare period, tax rates, invoice status and adjustments. No data: confirm eligible posted activity exists. A failed action can reflect validation, permissions or provider availability; preserve the current record and report the exact error.
